Brazil to rebuild Antarctic research station

Brazil will reopen its Antarctic research station late next year with bigger and more modern facilities. The station burned down last year, killing two people. "The new station will have 19 laboratories with cutting-edge technology, which will mean an important increase in Antarctic research and the development of new capacities," said Brazilian Antarctic Program manager Marcos Silva Rodrigues, who is also secretary of the Inter-ministerial Commission for the Resources of the Sea.
