CFTC's Chilton calls for better transparency of banks' commodity assets

Bart Chilton of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission said the agency needs to have greater knowledge of large Wall Street banks' commodities businesses. "Unless we can see that, we can't reasonably and responsibly protect against market manipulations," Chilton said, adding that it was "nearly impossible to figure out exactly what banks own."
