Daily HIV pill linked to better compliance in veterans study

Veterans with HIV/AIDS who received highly active antiretroviral drugs through a once-daily pill were almost twice as likely to adhere to their treatment regimens as those who had to keep up with multiple doses, according to a study presented at the Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy. The risk of hospitalization was higher among the multiple-pill group compared with patients who received a single pill.
