Dairy companies commit to reducing calories in the U.K.

British dairy manufacturer Volac is one of the U.K.'s first dairy processors to commit to the Department of Health's voluntary Responsibility Deal Food Pledge on Calorie Reduction with its development of a liquid whey protein concentrate and fruit juice beverage called Upbeat. Volac was joined by Arla Foods, Dairy Crest and Mueller Wiseman Dairies in the effort to reduce calories in their products and to develop healthier snack alternatives.
