N.C. teacher shadows tech-company workers

Kathleen Boice, an eighth-grade science teacher, spent much of her summer learning about careers in the telecommunications and manufacturing industry to help develop lesson plans that apply to the real world. As part of a program operated by North Carolina State University, Boice shadowed various employees at a technology company to learn what specific skills are needed for jobs in that industry.
