N.D. reaches oil production record in July

North Dakota's oil fields produced about 874,460 barrels per day, up from June's figure of 821,598 barrels per day, according to the state's Department of Mineral Resources. The Bakken and Three Forks formations contributed largely to the output gains. "We probably ... have a few months of sharp increases in production (ahead)," said Lynn Helms, the department's director.
