Refiners should have prepared more for the E10 blend wall because there were already signs of declining gasoline demand back when the Renewable Fuel Standard was first put in place, ethanol supporters said. "They act as if they didn't see this coming," said Adam Monroe, president of Novozymes North America. The ethanol industry and other stakeholders have made changes to adapt to the RFS, so the refining industry should do the same, Monroe said.
