Why N.Y. is Greek yogurt's Silicon Valley

New York's 28 yogurt plants, dubbed the "Silicon Valley of yogurt" by Bloomberg Businessweek, produced almost 700 million pounds of yogurt last year, outpacing California's production by more than 100 million pounds. Investors and companies from Greece, Germany, Colombia, Turkey and Iceland are pumping more money into plant expansions and upgrades in the area as the U.S. Greek yogurt market continues to grow.
