House proposal goes beyond 9-11 Commission recommendations

A House transportation subcommittee yesterday approved draft legislation that would mandate aviation security measures beyond those recommended by the 9-11 Commission. Subcommittee Chairman John Mica, R-Fla., said the proposed bill implements the commission's "major aviation recommendations" in addition to measures such as antimissile systems for commercial airliners.
