Medicare Web site adds price comparisons for 52 drugs

The addition of information on 52 medications for high cholesterol, high blood pressure, allergies, arthritis and stomach ailments is the government's latest effort to reduce drug prices and get the slow-developing discount card program more attention from both seniors on Medicare and others outside the program who buy drugs. So far, the program has attracted only 10% of the 43 million Medicare beneficiaries.
