EU to debate two new biotech maizes next week

A decision by experts and ministers on authorizing the new maizes could end the EU's biotech deadlock, but officials are doubtful of a breakthrough. To be considered before separate EU panels are a hybrid from Monsanto for use in industrial processing, and 1507, intended for processing for animal feed uses and made by DuPont's Pioneer Hi-Bred International and Mycogen Seeds, a unit of Dow AgroSciences.
