Can innovation save America?

The movement of innovation economics claims that good ideas, if applied right, can pull the U.S. out of its economic hole. "We spend mega, mega millions already on R&D and higher education and all the things that go into innovation," says BusinessWeek's chief economist, Michael Mandel. "And what innovation economics tells us is how to get a better bang for the buck, how to get more jobs, how to get more growth."
