Guidelines advise wait before treating ear infection

New guidelines from the Canadian Paediatric Society call for providers to wait 48 hours before prescribing antibiotics for healthy children over age 6 months who have ear infections. The group cited concern about increasing cases of antibiotic resistance and the need to decrease the use of antibiotics.
