Oracle ends HP partnership, works on taking over Sun

Oracle said it is ending a computer-making partnership with Hewlett-Packard that helped it get into the computer-equipment business. Since the collaboration's launch, Oracle has signed a deal to pay $7 billion for Sun Microsystems, the fourth-largest server manufacturer in the world. Sun and HP compete directly in the markets of data storage and computer servers.
