Public discussions on user privacy to be led by FTC

The first of three FTC public roundtable discussions on issues concerning technology and user privacy has been scheduled for Dec. 7 in Washington, D.C. The public may attend the sessions or watch them live on the Web. Among the topics under discussion are the "risks, concerns and benefits" associated with the collection of user data and whether industry self-regulation offers adequate protection to users.
