Amtrak, Florida DOT near compromise on liability dispute

A liability dispute between Amtrak and the Florida Department of Transportation may be nearing resolution, which would clear obstacles to the construction of the SunRail passenger railway. The deal would provide Amtrak with liability coverage for accidents that involve contractors on the track. The state plans to buy 61 miles of CSX track for $150 million once the dispute is resolved.
