Doctors who are reminded that they've endured personal sacrifice to achieve career success find it easier to accept gifts from drug and medical-device companies, according to a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. Industry and medical professionals need interaction, study author Sunita Sah says, but the relationships should be closely monitored.
