Experts say nanotech shows promise for food production

Scientists are seeing the potential role of nanotechnology in producing low-fat foods that could help fight conditions, such as obesity and diabetes, or encapsulated nutrients that could affect digestion. However, some experts are concerned that nonbiodegradable or "persistent" nanoparticles might cause harm by making their way through certain barriers within the human body.
