GE's safety system aims to track patients, caregivers

General Electric's Smart Patient Rooms system seeks to track caregivers and patients to reduce mistakes and improve quality of care. The system can monitor whether caregivers wash their hands and how often they check on patients, and can send an alert if a patient who is at risk of falling tries to get out of bed.
