Use of electronic textbooks is expected to grow with iPad

The iPad is seen by analysts as a game-changer in ushering in greater use of electronic textbooks because of its ability to play video and display graphics in color, as well as allow for note-taking. The education-textbook industry has been held back by the lack of a good platform, but analysts expect the sales of digital textbooks to increase. "What the tablets have to do and in many ways can do are to make reading easier for students and a better experience," said one analyst.
