USDA is testing a new rabies vaccine on W.Va. wildlife

USDA is conducting the first field test of a new oral rabies vaccine for wildlife in Greenbrier County, W.Va. The ONRAB vaccine has a sweet coating that is more appealing to animals than the fish-flavored vaccine being used in other parts of the country. USDA said the site in West Virginia was chosen due to its sizable raccoon population, as well as the area's efforts to combat rabies.
