Data show improvements in MRSA rates

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus infections in the U.S. decreased by nearly 30% from 2005 to 2011, while the rate of hospital-acquired MRSA infections saw a 54% decline, CDC officials reported. Another study showed exposure to agricultural operations that use swine manure was associated with MRSA community-acquired infections. The studies appear in JAMA Internal Medicine.
