Education leaders share lessons learned about the common core

Some districts already are sharing what they have learned from experience with the Common Core State Standards. Among them are Sharon Contreras, superintendent of the Syracuse City School District in New York, and Michael Moody, CEO of Insight Education Group, who share four lessons they have learned about implementing the common core. The lessons they offer include to avoid implementation based on the "new test" and to give teachers time to study the standards independently and in groups.
