Fla. DOT to install built-in sensors on new bridge

"Smart bridge" technology will be installed on the new Flagler Bridge in West Palm Beach, Fla., by the Florida Department of Transportation. This will allow for remote monitoring of the bridge's condition. "We're getting out feet wet on this smart bridge technology," said Brian O'Donoghue, an FDOT interim structures maintenance engineer. "There are more things that can and will be done in the future."
