Free breakfast, lunch on the menu for some N.Y. students

A New York school district expects that participation in school meals will rise this year under a new program that provides free meals to elementary- and middle-school students, regardless of family income. Eventually, officials say, high schools could be included in the program. For now, the focus is on providing meals to students who need and want them.
