Handbook helps shoppers find total sugar content of foods

University of California, San Francisco, professor Robert Lustig, author of "Fat Chance: Beating the Odds Against Sugar, Processed Food, Obesity and Disease," has developed an e-book for mobile devices that shoppers can use at the store to see the quality and quantity of sugar in food products. Lustig says current food labels do not distinguish between inherent and added sugars, and foods can contain multiple types of sugar.
