IRS issues new procedures for equitable innocent spouse relief

The Internal Revenue Service has issued new rules for taxpayers who are seeking equitable innocent spouse relief under Sec. 66(c) or 6015(f) of the Internal Revenue Code. The guidance addresses abuse or intimidation as a factor in weighing relief, changes the refund request rules and introduces new streamlined procedures.
