Leonardo's clockwork lion comes to life

When he wasn't busy painting the "Mona Lisa" or inventing helicopters, Leonardo da Vinci indulged himself in creating mechanical automatons to entertain the crowned heads of Europe. One of his most famous machines, a full-sized lion capable of walking independently and delivering bouquets of lilies and flowers, has been reconstructed by French researchers.
