Many high-school seniors are extreme binge drinkers

The percentage of high-school seniors in the U.S. who binge drink declined from 22% in 2005 to 18.1% in 2011, but rates of extreme binge drinking among these students has remained steady, U.S. researchers said. The study released Monday in the journal JAMA Pediatrics showed that 1 in 10 seniors reported consuming 10 or more drinks in a row, while nearly 6% have consumed 15 or more drinks.
