N.C. middle school wants all students to access free breakfasts

Officials at a Charlotte, N.C., middle school say about 1 in 4 students stop by the cafeteria each morning for a free breakfast. School officials are hoping to increase participation in the breakfast program to improve academic achievement. Those efforts, including letting students know about the free-breakfast option, appear to be working, with about 30 more students eating breakfast each day this year than last year.
