N.Y. considers relaxing remediation requirements

Because of the larger number of students in New York who failed state tests aligned with the Common Core State Standards, officials say they lack the resources to offer remediation to all students. In response, the state Board of Regents has signaled plans to approve a proposal that would relax the requirement and limit the number of students who are required to receive remediation from schools.
