N.Y.-N.J. Port Authority: Infrastructure projects to advance with P3 use

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey touts the use of public-private partnerships for the $1.5 billion rehabilitation and improvement of the Goethals Bridge and renovation of LaGuardia Airport central terminal. It also plans to use the same approach for repairing aging infrastructure over the next 10 years. The P3 for the Goethals Bridge project is expected to provide "a 10% reduction in construction costs and a 10% reduction in subsequent bridge operations and maintenance," according to Port Authority Executive Director Pat Foye.
