Oat-based sweetener gains traction

Paul Whalen, founder of OatTech, said the customer base is growing for its signature product, the OatSweet oat-derived sweetener, since it was introduced to the U.S. market about a year ago. "The bars category is a really good fit for our product, partly because it is excellent for keeping chewy bars chewy longer -- plus it's got a wonderful flavor," he said.
