Rowing gains fans as full-body, non-weight-bearing workout

Indoor rowing offers a full-body workout for people who cannot do weight-bearing exercises, and Auburn University professor Michele Olson says it uses almost every muscle group and burns as many calories as running and more than spinning. Rowing is gaining in popularity, and often is offered with CrossFit or used in workouts that include other types of exercises, such as yoga.
