Starbucks is on track to open 1,000th China store this year

Starbucks opened two highly visible Beijing flagships Monday, saying it will have at least 1,000 shops in China by year's end. The company expects China to outpace Canada to become the java brand's second-largest global market early next year. The coffee giant is testing new designs aimed at tailoring the stores to the market, and one of the two new shops is open 24 hours and boasts a club with live music on the weekends.
