Threat of strike against Syria would end under U.S.-Russia agreement

Syria is to provide a full inventory of its chemical weapons and facilities this week, with international inspectors removing or destroying the weapons by mid-2014, under an agreement that the U.S. and Russia reached over the weekend. The agreement would lift the threat of a U.S. strike against Syria. In addition, the Pentagon has said that no American troops will be used in the effort to destroy a Syrian stockpile of chemical weapons.
