Tips on going digital with student portfolios

As part of a plan to take her classes paperless and teach students to communicate using 21st-century means, middle-school educator Heather Wolpert-Gawron is having students replace traditional three-ring binders with digital portfolios they have created using Google sites. In this blog post, Wolpert-Gawron describes how students created their own websites, including a homepage, and tabs for content such as a blog, their work in progress and a research library. All student sites are then linked on a common homepage so students can read what their peers post, she writes.
