Videoconferencing sees growth, more opportunities

Videoconferencing has gained ground, with companies spending $2.6 billion in 2012 on equipment, according to IDC. Three models have emerged to serve enterprises, educational institutions and health care providers. The industry has, however, already undergone a transition from serving clients through pricey hardware systems to less-expensive room and software-only systems and then to cloud computing.
