Women often opt for lower-paying degrees

Research shows that women are more likely to choose majors that lead to lower-paying career paths than their male counterparts. Men earn the majority of degrees in nine of the 10 majors that are worth the most money. In addition, some women who graduate with relatively lucrative degrees nevertheless end up in lower-paying professions.
