Celera, Merck ink cancer research deal

Celera will collaborate with Merck & Co. to examine gene profiles that will lead to the development of diagnostic tests for oncology therapies. Under the agreement, Merck will give Celera an undisclosed payment for the collaboration and provide the firm additional payment if it decides to turn over a Celera-validated gene to a clinical laboratory.
