Biofuel to be viable by 2013, Boeing official predicts

Biofuels will provide partial power to commercial aircraft within five years, according to Billy Glover, director of environmental performance at Boeing Co. Glover said the breakthroughs in biofuel research have been "amazing," and some algae-based fuels are "showing better [potential performance] qualities than current jet fuel."
