Kefir helps GI system but other health claims unproven

Kefir, a cousin to yogurt, is a fermented milk drink with beneficial probiotics -- so-called healthy bacteria -- that aid the digestive system. Health claims beyond that, however, including that kefir can treat cancer or any other disease, are not substantiated by scientific research.
