AT&T buys 24 licenses from Allen for 4G, Northwest

Billionaire Paul Allen has sold two dozen wireless licenses in the 700-MHz spectrum to an AT&T unit, according to a government filing that did not include terms of the deal. The 24 licenses are in Washington state and Oregon -- including Portland and Seattle -- and an AT&T spokesman confirmed the spectrum would be used to support the carrier's 4G rollout and boost service in the Northwest.
