Courts, Canada bless Nortel unit sales

A joint U.S.-Canadian bankruptcy panel on Wednesday rejected Verizon Communications' objection to the sale of Nortel Networks' enterprise unit to Avaya and cleared the $915 million deal. In further good news for Nortel, the Canadian government said it would not move to block Sweden's Ericsson from buying most of Nortel's wireless assets.
