Lincoln National's Glass says economy is improving

There are clear signs of economic improvement, said Dennis R. Glass, president and chief executive officer of Lincoln National. "We have not declared victory on capital markets or the economy, but I see reason for optimism," Mr. Glass said. The insurer and investment manager's commercial-mortgage portfolio is expected to perform well because Lincoln National is a conservative mortgage lender, Mr. Glass continued. "In the insurance industry and at Lincoln, we only invest in properties that are completed and properties that have achieved our leasing requirements," he added.
