Parent's insurance status affects whether children see provider

Data from a government survey of 43,000 U.S. households showed children and teens whose parents didn't have health insurance were less likely to have seen a medical provider or dentist in the preceding year. Researchers said gaps in care also were found among children who were covered by SCHIP but whose parents were uninsured.
