Renaissance chain reborn with slick design

Marriott unveiled two hotels this week that represent a sleek new image for the chain's Renaissance brand. The hotels include the flashy Renaissance Paris Arc de Triomphe, with a wavy, all-glass exterior, and the Renaissance New York Hotel 57, a boutique property built in a 17-story Romanesque New York building. And, in a branding move not too far removed from Starwood's luxury W brand, the Renaissance logo has been transformed to a modern, one-letter symbol: R.
