Senate passes bill boosting transportation spending

Legislation passed by the Senate on Thursday would raise spending on highway repairs and housing and transportation programs by $122 billion. The bill now must be reconciled with House legislation that would increase spending by close to $69 billion before it is sent to President Barack Obama.
