Can green construction help put Haiti back on track?

With 200,000 homes and 30,000 commercial properties in need of reconstruction, Haiti is becoming a testing ground for new green-building and sustainable construction techniques. That's prompting U.S. construction companies to reassess the meaning of green building in a developing-world context: issues such as deforestation, pollution and disease are of more concern to Haitians than are conventional green-building issues such as energy and water conservation.
