Chicago council green-lights steel site redevelopment

McCaffery Interests and US Steel have received clearance to move forward on a $4 billion redevelopment project on Chicago's South Side. The city is contributing $96 million in tax incentives to the 25-year redevelopment of a former steel mill. Homes, retail and commercial space are part of the envisioned development.
